Chinese Kimono

The Chinese kimono is an unofficial term to refer to traditional Chinese dresses such as the Qipao (also called Cheongsam) and the Hanfu. Both these dresses do share important similarities with the Japanese Kimono, and it is believed that the Hanfu directly influenced the development of the Kimono.

The Qipao and Hanfu have their own distinct characteristics and historical significance, but they can be loosely compared to the Kimono in terms of their overall style and purpose as traditional garments.
